In one of the biggest organised cigar events ever, British Cuban cigar distributor Hunters & Frankau oversaw a multi-site live simultaneous event to mark the official world launch of the Ramón Allones Allones No.2.
More than 600 people all over the world joined Hunters & Frankau Executive Chairman, Jemma Freeman, and José Antonio Cesas Diaz, the company’s Corporate Director, to light up the new 5.5ins x 52 Ring Gauge cigar simultaneously after watching a video introduction.
Lucky participants – retailers and a select number of their guests – were each handed packs which included the new cigar; a small bottle of Hine Cigar Reserve Cognac and a glass; chocolates especially designed for the event by London club, 5 Hertford Street, cutter, matches and an informational booklet.
Cigar specialists the length and breadth of the country took part – and although in London, the weather was typically British, with grey clouds and splashes of rain – all were able to enjoy their cigars with relish.
Some chose to host socially distanced parties, others to have their chosen participants join them online for a discursive tasting. Early reports suggest the new cigar was received exceptionally well.
