On July 12, 2019, Habanos S.A. presented a new vitola within the Punch brand: a Short Robusto called Short de Punch (50 x 120 mm). With this release, Punch incorporates the first 50 ring gauge format in its portfolio. Short de Punch come in a Semi Boîte Nature (SBN) box of 10 cigars.
The presentation of the new cigar was organised by Intertabak, the official Habanos distributor in Switzerland where around 250 guests from all over the world enjoyed the first batch. The price per box in Switzerland is CHF 133.00.
The brand will celebrate its 180th anniversary next year and has initially been very popular in the United Kingdom. Today, the main markets for the brand are the Pacific region, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Spain and Germany. According to José María López Inchaurbe (Vicepresident Development Habanos SA) the brand contributes 1,5 percent to Habanos’ overall turnover and 15 percent within the new classification of Value Brands (Bolívar, Ramon Allones, Trinidad and Punch).
