While most famous for its Leaf by Oscar handmade premium cigars, Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co. is getting a little patriotic in its two releases for this year’s PCA Show in Las Vegas.

Named for Oscar’s son, Santiago, the Santiago Valladares cigar debuted at last year’s InterTabak Show in Dortmund, Germany. Now the cigar is coming to the United States.

The Toro-sized cigar (6 x 52) is made in Danli, Honduras, from and Ecuadorean Habano wrapper and Honduran binder and filler tobaccos. Every cigar is packaged inside a wooden coffin and only 2,000 of the 10-count boxes will be available in the U.S. beginning in June.

Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co. also introduced its collaboration with Cigars for Warriors (C4W), the charitable 501(c) that sends donated cigars to U.S. troops serving abroad.

The C4W collaboration is a 6 x 52 Toro made from a Corojo Oscuro wrapper from Honduras and Honduran binder and filler tobaccos. The Honduran puro is available in 10-count boxes and will begin shipping to retailers in early April. Only 1,000 10-count boxes, which resemble ammunition boxes, have been produced and all of the proceeds from the sale of the cigars go to Cigars for Warriors to help its mission to give deployed American soldiers and sailors some comfort and relaxation while they are serving abroad.
