Ernesto Padilla and A.J. Fernandez are working on a new project for Padilla Cigar Co. The Padilla Poética line will debut in summer this year. Ernesto Padilla: “The project is in honor of my father, once a famed Cuban poet who turned political activist and was exiled from Cuba.”
According to Padilla, the cigar blend is complete. “We have created a successful batch of 900 pre-release Poética box-pressed robustos. The pre-release cigars have been banded by A.J. with the name Top Secret.
The cigar sports an aged Ecuador Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. The cigar band is currently being designed. Ernesto Padilla is offering the pre-release to collectors. “We will be selling the pre-release starting May 15, 2020 to midsize brick and mortar in hopes to drum up business for them. We will also be selling the cigars online.”
